Brief Note of the Day – August 3, 2014

Why is it that the Dodgers so often make lousy opposing players look like stars, and I don’t just mean today? But, today they faced the worst starting pitcher in baseball, Edwin Jackson (5-11, 5.79) who had given up 20 earned runs over his last 10 innings. Today, the Dodgers managed two runs in six innings off Jackson, and as I write this, the Dodgers and Josh Beckett are down 6-2 in the eighth inning to the last-place Cubs.
