A major announcement tonight from major league baseball and Commissioner Bud Selig:
With the unprecedented success of the two game season opening series between the Dodgers and Diamondbacks in Australia, an agreement has now been reached with NASA to send the St. Louis Cardinals and the Baltimore Orioles into outer space to begin the 2015 season on the moon.
NASA has agreed to immediately take all necessary steps to begin construction of a hermetically sealed domed stadium on the moon so that batted balls will stay in the park rather than flying into orbit, and so that players can breath.
Called a major step for baseball and for mankind, the retiring Commissioner said that baseball on the moon will be his legacy.
Cardinal and Oriole players said the whole idea is for the birds.
