For a year, I had a lot to say about the most over-rated, egotistical, self-centered, me-first player in professional sports, now THANK GOODNESS former Lakers’ center Deeee-Wight Howard. His actions in his year in Los Angeles said plenty, and I had hoped I would not have to deal with him much again, once he took his giant ego to Houston, but, alas, new self-centered statements from the non-stop mouth that roared demand a comment.
Mr. Howard has now taken to the media to criticize the fact that his former Orlando Magic team has DARED to let another player, Tobias Harris, wear HIS beloved number 12.
NBA finals, which they lost. In his eight years, in fact, the team made the playoffs six times, and were blown out in the first round 50% of the time.
Perhaps ole Dwight has forgotten about some of the circumstances under which he left Orlando, beginning more than a year before NBA free-agency regs could let him leave his beloved team and go elsewhere, including his criticism of the talent level on the rest of the team, the failures of the GM to build a winning combination, and the fact that HE wanted OUT of Orlando. Details, details.
“I just think that despite whatever happened, there was a lot of things that I did and that we did as a team, and that number was special down there,… And I was a little bit upset about that.”
|Next he’ll be saying the Lakers need to eliminate 12 from their future number dispersals.
Howard’s statements were made just prior to his Houston team taking on Orlando in an exhibition game yesterday, a game in which the now significantly overrated Rockets managed a four
point win over the horrible, talent-less Magic, 108-104, with the Ego-Man scoring eight points. Tobias Harris and HIS number 12 did not play.
If I were running the Magic, I’d have the kids who wipe the sweat off the floor all wearing that number 12. However, that would besmirch the names of Joe Wolf, Derek Harper, and Chris Whitney, all decent fellows who wore Number 12 for Orlando BEFORE Howard. Come to think of it, don’t the sweat-wipers in Cleveland wear number 23?
