Mario Solis hit a new low tonight. In all the years that somehow he has retained a paid announcing position in LA television, he has NEVER made as absolutely stupid a statement as he did tonight.
The Dodgers’ home opener this afternoon marked the 50th anniversary of Dodger Stadium, and various former players and dignitaries were honored before the game. Throwing out the first pitch was Terry O’Malley Seidler, who was accompanied to the mound by her brother. What did Mario have to say about her brother on this evenings’ KNBC-TV newscast? Well, he said among the honorees was former Dodger owner Walter O’Malley, who is the son of the man who brought the Dodgers to Los Angeles, Peter O’Malley.
Really? You have GOT to be kidding.
How can KNBC continue to pay this guy? How can he accept his paycheck for this kind of ignorant, disgusting garbage masquerading as professional broadcasting.
Mario owes Los Angeles, the Dodgers, and the O’Malley family an apology.
Note: Walter O’Malley has been dead 32 years.
